DIU secret raid in Crimea: Premiere of Shadows on Edge documentary film

The YouTube channel 2+2 has released the Shadows on the Edge documentary film about the details of the Crimea-2016 secret raid.

According to Ukrinform, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this.

The film reveals for the first time details of how Ukrainian military intelligence attempted to weaken the enemy's air superiority over the occupied peninsula and destroy the attack helicopters and latest air defense systems that the enemy had deployed on the peninsula.

The raid was personally supervised and carried out by Kyrylo Budanov, the former chief of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. At that time, as an officer of the Defense Intelligence, he developed the operational concept, coordinated the actions of the raid group, and took direct part in the operation.

The film features exclusive testimonies from participants in the operation and previously unknown details of the raid's preparation. Viewers will also see dramatic footage of the battle with the elite FSB Vympel unit and the group's nighttime departure by sea.

The film tells the story of how a small group of military intelligence officers outsmarted the Russian special services network.

As reported by Ukrinform, the DIU released footage of the operation carried out by the Revanche Tactical Group of the International Legion in Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhzhia region.
