War update: 294 clashes on front live over past day, 64 engagements in Pokrovsk sector
Between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops, 294 combat engagements took place over the past day, with the enemy showing the most activity in the Pokrovsk sector and elevated activity in the Kostiantynivka and Lyman sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 08:00 on Sunday, February 8, according to Ukrinform.
According to updated data, yesterday the Russian army carried out one missile strike and 74 air strikes, using 39 missiles and 227 glide bombs.
The invaders also deployed 3,663 kamikaze drones and shelled settlements and positions of the Defense Forces 2,778 times, including 117 times with multiple launch rocket systems.
Enemy air strikes hit, in particular, the areas of Orly and Pokrovske in Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Trudove, Novosoloshyne, Liubytske, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipole, Charivne, Zhovta Krucha, Yurkivka, Barvinivka, Shyroke, Dolynka, and Vozdvyzhivka in Zaporizhzhia region.
Ukrainian missile troops and artillery struck one concentration area of Russian personnel and six other important targets over the past day.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, defenders repelled 11 Russian attacks. The enemy carried out 93 shellings in these sectors, including 15 with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Russians attempted 18 times to break through defensive lines near Pokrovka, Zelene, Starytsia, Chuhunivka, Prylipka, Lyman, Vovchansk, and Vovchanski Khutory, toward Hryhorivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, the invaders carried out 13 attacks yesterday. The Defense Forces repelled their assault actions toward Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Shyikivka, and Pischane.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked 20 times, attempting to breach defenses near Kopanky, Serednie, Novoselivka, Stavky, Drobysheve, and Zarichne.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 11 enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Platonivka, Yampil, and Zakitne, toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army attacked six times near Minkivka, Predtechyne, Vasiukivka, and Orikhovo-Vasylivka, toward Pryvillia.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out 28 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Kostiantynivka, toward Ivanopillia, Berestok, Novopavlivka, Illinivka, and Stepanivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 64 enemy assault actions in the areas of Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Rodynske, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Muravka, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiia, toward Serhiivka, Bilytske, Novooleksandrivka, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russians carried out six attacks yesterday near Pryvillia and Olesandrivka, toward Ivanivka.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops attacked 15 times near Huliaipole, toward Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zelene, and Olenokostiantynivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks near Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, and Stepnohirsk, toward Novoandriivka, Pavlivka, Prymorske, and Lukianivka.
In the Prydniprovske sector, Russians conducted two unsuccessful offensive actions over the past day.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive group formations have been detected.
As Ukrinform reported, the Defense Forces eliminated at least 1,040 Russian invaders in a day.
