Russian troops attack Chernihiv region with drones, enterprise and two schools damaged
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 45 drone attacks on the border areas and the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region, resulting in extensive damage to civilian infrastructure and private homes.
The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Over the past day, the border areas as well as the Nizhyn area were under enemy attack. Forty-five strikes – 65 explosions," Chaus said.
According to him, "Geran" drones attacked a food enterprise in a village of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community. Two production workshops, vehicles, garages, and a boiler house were damaged. In other villages, drone strikes damaged a residential building and destroyed a school building that was not in operation.
In the Semenivka community, civilian vehicles caught fire as a result of a drone strike.
In Snovsk, a drone attack shattered windows at a music school and damaged vehicles.
In a village of the Nizhyn district, a "Geran" strike damaged houses, outbuildings, and vehicles.
As Ukrinform reported, on February 2 Russian troops shelled border settlements in Chernihiv region 31 times, with 51 explosions recorded.
