CinC Syrskyi holds meeting on medical priorities in AFU
At a meeting at the General Staff Headquarters, the issue of medical care in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was discussed.
According to Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported this on Facebook following a meeting with relevant military services.
“I am personally monitoring the issue of medical care in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The priority remains to preserve the life and health of Ukrainian soldiers, to evacuate the wounded in a timely manner, and to provide quality medical care. Work in this area is being consistently strengthened,” Syrskyi said.
In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are developing capabilities and improving technologies for evacuating the wounded.
According to Syrskyi, the development and deployment of separate medical battalions, which have already proven their effectiveness and provide qualified medical assistance to the wounded on a daily basis, is continuing.
During the meeting, the commander-in-chief heard reports from the relevant services of the armed forces on the state of medical supplies and equipment for the units, as well as the organization of medical supply logistics.
The meeting participants discussed the issue of optimizing the supply of medical equipment to medical units in areas where medical support tasks are being carried out. Special attention was paid to the issue of staffing units with combat medics.
"In modern combat conditions, it is critically important to improve the level of training of personnel in tactical pre-hospital care. Every properly trained military personnel must have the relevant skills to provide it, and therefore the main efforts will be focused on improving the training and provision of personnel," Syrskyi emphasized.
Following the discussion, he set the task of preparing practical proposals to strengthen this area.
As reported by Ukrinform, Syrskyi discussed with the leadership of the 1st Medical Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the directions for the development of medical assistance in the combat zone and presented awards to the servicemen of the unit.
