Defense Forces repel assault on Kruhlyk Island in Prydniprovske sector
Ukrainian troops stopped an enemy attempt to land on Kruhlyk Island in the Prydniprovske sector.
This was reported on television by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“One combat engagement was recorded in the Prydniprovske sector over the past day. The enemy attempted to land on Kruhlyk Island and storm our positions there, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed the enemy,” Voloshyn said.
According to him, enemy activity in this sector remains high: Over the past day, the occupiers carried out about 400 kamikaze drone strikes on Kherson and nearby settlements, as well as about a hundred artillery strikes.
The enemy is conducting local assault operations on the Antonivski Bridges and the islands of Bilohrudyi and Kruhlyk, which are more reminiscent of reconnaissance by combat groups and checking the density of defenses, Voloshyn noted.
As reported, 117 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line over the past day, January 28.
