Explosive ordnance technicians from Kyiv police rendered safe the warhead of a Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile that failed to detonate in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv.

According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv police reported this on Facebook.

Fragments of the Iskander-M missile with a warhead weighing about half a tonne – launched by Russia against the Ukrainian capital overnight on January 24 – were located near residential buildings and a gas station in the Dniprovskyi district and posed a significant threat.

Specialists, together with sappers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, made the munition safe and, using specialized equipment, removed it for disposal at a firing range.

During its large-scale attack on Ukraine on January 24, Russia launched more than 370 strike drones and 21 missiles of various types. Air defense forces intercepted 15 Russian missiles and 357 drones.
