Russians seeking weak spots in Ukrainian defenses along border – military

Russian forces have stepped up their activity along the border line in the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Task Force, trying to identify weak points in Ukrainian defenses and intensifying air strikes.

Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Task Force, said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

"First of all, the Lyman axis remains active, the Kupiansk axis is quite active as well, as are Vovchansk and its surroundings. […] The Russians are actively probing the border along its entire length, trying to find weak spots in Ukrainian defenses along the border – both in the Sumy region within our area of responsibility and in the Kharkiv region," Trehubov said.

According to him, the enemy has already attempted to cross the border in areas "that were previously not as active, such as the area of Dehtiarne north of Kharkiv."

Trehubov added that Russian troops "maintain constant pressure along the entire Ukrainian line of defense, while actively employing various long-range weapons."

He noted that the enemy is striking Kharkiv and border settlements.

"Kharkiv is being hit quite systematically, and they are also actively dropping, for example, guided aerial bombs on border villages and deployment areas […] roughly ten strikes on each axis," Trehubov said.
