Photojournalist Volodymyr Siniychuk killed in war
Volodymyr Siniychuk, a soldier and photojournalist for the Poltava region newspaper Ridny Krai, was killed in battle against Russian invaders.
This was reported on Facebook by the Institute of Mass Information (IMI), according to Ukrinform.
Volodymyr was born on October 24, 1973, in the village of Velyka Bahachka in the Poltava region. He studied at a local school, after which he entered the Luhansk Pedagogical Institute. After graduation, he worked as a teacher at the Semenivka school. He became a photojournalist for the local newspaper Ridny Krai.
In 2022, Volodymyr was drafted into military service. On January 4, 2026, he was killed in battle in the Donetsk region.
The fallen soldier is survived by his elderly parents, two daughters, a granddaughter, and a sister.
According to IMI data, Volodymyr is the 124th media worker to die as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, director, journalist, and cameraman Kostiantyn Shtyfurak (call sign “Director”) was killed on the front lines.
