War update: 126 clashes on front line, Pokrovsk sector remains most active
Ukrainian forces reported 126 combat engagements on the front, with Russian forces carrying out 39 attacks on Defense Forces positions in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to Ukrinform the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, updating the situation as of 22:00 on January 18, 2026.
"In total, since the beginning of the day, 126 combat engagements have taken place. Russian occupiers carried out 78 airstrikes, dropping 199 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 5,355 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,985 artillery and mortar attacks on our troops' positions and populated areas," the report states.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, one enemy attack occurred. The invaders conducted one airstrike, dropping two guided bombs, and carried out 87 artillery strikes, including one from a multiple rocket launcher system.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy attacked ten times in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, and toward Hrafske, Nesterne, and Kruhle, with two clashes still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attempted five times to push Ukrainian units from their positions in the Pishchane area and toward Kurylivka, Petropavlivka, and Boryvska Andriivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four assault actions in the Yampil area and toward Stavky and Oleksandrivka, with one engagement still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy attacked three times near Pazeno and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, there were no offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 15 combat engagements occurred, with Russian forces attempting to storm Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Kleban-Byk, and toward Berestok, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the enemy attacked 39 times in the areas of Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward Filiia and Novopavlivka. Preliminary data indicates that 106 occupiers were neutralized, 64 of them permanently. Ukrainian troops also destroyed four vehicles, two ATVs, 35 drones, nine communication antennas, one electronic warfare system, three command posts, two UAV control points, and three enemy personnel shelters. Additionally, they destroyed one artillery system, six vehicles, two EW systems, and 12 personnel shelters.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks toward Ivanivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Radisne. The settlement of Khvyli was hit by an airstrike.
In the Huliaipole sector, 16 combat engagements occurred in the areas of Huliaipole, Zelene, and toward Varvarivka and Dobropillia, with two still ongoing. Russian airstrikes targeted Huliaipole, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Zaliznychne, and Dolynka.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy twice attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses near Plavni. Airstrikes hit Zhovta Krucha and Tavriyske.
In the Prydniprovske sector, no enemy offensive actions have been recorded.
No significant changes were reported in other sectors.
As Ukrinform previously reported, over the past week, Russian forces deployed more than 1,300 drones and approximately 1,050 guided bombs.
