Russian war casualty toll in Ukraine up by 1,130 over past day

The total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to January 17, 2026, amount to approximately 1,225,590 personnel, including 1,130 over the past day. 

This was reported in a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

Russia has also lost 11,569 tanks (+3), 23,914 armored combat vehicles (+6), 36,261 artillery systems (+31), 1,615 multiple launch rocket systems (+1), 1,278 air defense systems (+1), 434 aircraft, 347 helicopters, 108,605 operational-tactical UAVs (+721), 4,163 cruise missiles, 28 warships / boats, 2 submarines, 74,601 vehicles and fuel tankers (+115), and 4,044 units of special equipment.

As reported by Ukrinform, over the course of January 16 there were 153 combat engagements between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders on the front line. In particular, on the Pokrovsk sector the enemy attempted to attack 43 times.
