Spain to provide Ukraine with Lanza LTR-25 radar

Spain will transfer a Lanza LTR-25 tactical early warning radar, produced by Indra, to Ukraine.

That is according to Spain's Council of Ministers, Ukrinform reports.

The Council of Ministers approved a project to conclude a contract for the production and supply of a long-range tactical radar system, along with logistical support.

The purpose of the project is to manufacture and deliver the LTR-25 radar with full logistical support, contributing to allied efforts to support Ukraine by strengthening its air defense capabilities.

The estimated value of the agreement is EUR 37 million, and it will remain valid from the date of signing until December 31, 2026, with no option for extension.

The Lanza LTR-25 is a mobile three-coordinate radar capable of operating under challenging electronic warfare conditions. Its key advantage is the ability to detect and track not only aircraft, but also small low-observable targets, including drones and cruise missiles.

The station can be easily transported by C-130 aircraft or trucks, allowing for rapid relocation and helping avoid retaliatory strikes.

The radar's air target detection range exceeds 450 km, and its integration into NATO's air defense system enables the transmission of target coordinates to air defense units.

As reported, in Madrid, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took part in a Spanish-Ukrainian technology forum focused on developing defense cooperation. The event was held at Indra Group facilities with the participation of Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles.

Representatives of Spain's defense industry demonstrated equipment they produce, including counter-drone systems, turrets, aerial and ground drones, long-range radars, and munitions.
