In Kryvyi Rih, 36 high-rise buildings damaged due to Iskander missile strike
In Kryvyi Rih, 36 apartment buildings were damaged, and one was almost destroyed as a result of a ballistic missile strike on January 8.
This was reported on Telegram by Oleksandr Vilkul, the Head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, according to Ukrinform.
"According to updated information, as a result of yesterday's latest despicable and cynical strike by ‘high-precision’ bastards with two ballistic missiles on a residential area, 36 apartment buildings were damaged, 10 of them very seriously, and one of them was practically destroyed. Windows were broken in apartments and stairwells. The roofs of nine buildings were also damaged. Enterprises and more than 20 cars were also damaged," he wrote.
Vilkul added that teams of utility workers had been organized since the evening. Work is continuing to close windows and roofs temporarily. Some of the buildings have no electricity or gas supply; specifically, four buildings have no electricity, and four buildings have no gas, with two completely and two partially. Restoration work is underway.
"After the work is completed, the State Emergency Service will issue a connection permit. Additionally, 20 houses are without heat because the pipes are broken; the heating network is operational, and I hope it will be restored by evening. The headquarters for assisting people whose homes have been affected will operate 24/7 and continue until 5 p.m. today. If necessary, it will also work on weekends. Here, you can obtain the necessary building materials (oriented strand boards, plastic sheets, etc.) and submit applications for financial assistance from the city. A mobile “Visa” is also available for faster and more convenient document processing. Already, 121 applications for financial assistance from the city have been accepted, and 214 families have received building materials. We've distributed 900 sheets of oriented strand boards, 400 pieces of rail, 4,200 running meters of plastic sheets, and other materials. Two people asked for housing, and they've been given temporary places to stay," he wrote.
As reported by Ukrinform, a woman was killed, and 23 people were injured, including six children, as a result of a Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih. Eighteen people are currently in the city's hospitals.
