CinC Syrskyi holds meeting on fortifications, engineering barriers, and anti-drone protection

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a working meeting on the state of engineering works on defensive lines, during which they discussed the preparation of settlements for defense and the organization of “anti-drone” protection.

According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi reported this on Telegram.

“I held a working meeting on the state of engineering work on defensive lines. We discussed fortifications, engineering barriers, the preparation of settlements for defense, and the organization of anti-drone protection,” Syrskyi said.

He also heard reports from the commanders of the troop formations and the head of the State Special Transport Service Administration. They discussed in detail how the defensive positions are equipped, the state of “anti-drone” protection, and how ready the settlements are for defense. They focused separately on problematic issues and identified specific steps to resolve them.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Support Forces, in close cooperation with local authorities and military administrations, are constantly performing extremely important tasks. These include the creation of extensive systems of trenches and dugouts, the construction of anti-tank ditches, bunkers, and other fortifications.

“In 2025, the state of engineering equipment of defensive lines and anti-drone protection has improved. A large amount of work has been done to prepare settlements for defense. At the same time, these measures must continue to be implemented systematically and consistently,” Syrskyi emphasized.

He also noted that the experience of defending the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration clearly proves that timely and high-quality fortifications and engineering barriers allow for the creation of effective defenses, inflicting maximum losses on the enemy at the approaches and thwarting its plans, even when the enemy has a numerical advantage.
