UAF destroys Russian assault groups in Vilcha, Kharkiv region
Soldiers of the 16th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated small Russian assault groups that had infiltrated the village of Vilcha in the Vovchansk urban community of Kharkiv region.
According to Ukrinform, the corps' press service stated this on Telegram and released a corresponding video of the combat operation.
"The enemy continues to apply pressure in the Vovchansk direction but is only capable of claiming victories in the media space. The need to demonstrate the inevitability of these 'victories' forces enemy command to throw more and more forces into meat-grinder assaults that result in massive losses. Lacking real success, the command reports the capture of yet another settlement 'on credit.' The main thing is to report it, and then somehow it will work itself out," the statement said.
According to the military, Vilcha is a telling example: on its outskirts, Russians left more than 100 dead (not including sanitary losses, which can safely be multiplied by three).
Using the tactic of small assault groups, the enemy enters the village and hides in buildings, where they are later destroyed by Ukrainian UAV operators.
The corps' press service stated that "the Defense Forces of Ukraine control the situation in the Vovchansk direction and continue to carry out tasks to repel and deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation."
As Ukrinform previously reported, in the border village of Sotnytskyi Kozachok in Kharkiv region, Russian troops suffered losses—more than 50 soldiers killed over several days—during an attempt to expand the front line.
