Partisans scout radar in Russia, that can 'blind' air defense if attacked

Agents of the ATESH partisan movement have scouted an active radar station and a communications post of Russia's 339th Radio Engineering Regiment in the Volgograd region.

ATESH reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

The partisans recorded the coordinates of the communications post and the temporary deployment site of military unit 03464 (03007-T) of the 339th Radio Engineering Regiment, part of the 51st Air Defense Division of the Radio Engineering Troops of the Russian Aerospace Forces, in the town of Mikhaylovka, Volgograd region.

In addition, they identified the location of a communications tower used for official radio communications.

A radar station was also documented, with its antenna protected by a dome (radome). The presence of a radome indicates that this is likely an actively operating system that requires high precision and continuous operation to detect and track aerial targets (aircraft, drones, missiles) or to conduct meteorological monitoring in support of military aviation.

Strikes on such facilities "blind" air defense systems and open corridors for operations by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Coordinates of the military unit: 50.0777258, 43.2774695.

The partisans also scouted a nearby railway bridge that is actively used to transport military equipment and cargo, and recorded train schedules.

Coordinates of the bridge: 50.044290, 43.276844.

ATESH agents are actively searching for sites that may be of interest to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for planning effective strikes against Russian military facilities.

As Ukrinform reported, partisans previously scouted a key logistics hub of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in temporarily Russian-occupied Sevastopol.
