Spox Voloshyn: enemy resumes assaults near Antonivsky Bridge, attempts landing on Bilohrudy Island

Russian troops are attempting to land on Bilohrudy Island, have resumed assaults near Antonivsky Bridge, and continue to shell Kherson and surrounding areas, but Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding most of the islands at the mouth of the Dnipro River.

According to Ukrinform, this was stated on television by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.

“The vast majority of all these islands located at the mouth of the Dnipro River are under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” the spokesman emphasized.

According to him, the enemy tried to land on the island of Bilohrudy, but unsuccessfully. There is also activity on the islands of Velykyi Vilkovyi, Zabych, and Nestryha in the southern part of these territories.

“Today, the enemy resumed its assault operations. After several days of regrouping, it resumed its assault on our position near the Antonivsky automobile bridge and began storming it early in the morning,” Voloshyn said.

He added that the enemy is not reducing its fire activity.

"The enemy is not reducing its fire activity, that is, it is using a large number of drones on Kherson and surrounding communities. It is also not reducing the number of artillery strikes on the right bank, and continues to use aviation, striking unguided aviation missiles at settlements located on the right bank, slightly south and below the former Kakhovka dam," the spokesman said.

As reported by Ukrinform, yesterday, December 11, one attempt by the invaders to advance in the Dnipro direction failed.
