Russian shelling of Kharkiv region leaves five people killed,11 injured

As a result of Russian shelling in the Kharkiv region over the past day, five people were killed and 11 injured.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the past day, 10 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under enemy fire. As a result of the shelling, 5 people were killed and 11 injured," the report said.

In the settlement of Staryi Saltiv in the Chuhuiv district, a 49-year-old man and a 66-year-old man were killed. The injured include men aged 37, 38, 41, 43, 47, 48, and two 39-year-old men.

In the settlement of Borova in the Izium district, a 68-year-old man was injured; in the village of Verkhnia Samara in the Lozova district, a 67-year-old woman was injured; in the village of Podoly in the Kupiansk district, a 70-year-old woman was killed and a 68-year-old woman injured; in the settlement of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kupiansk community, a 68-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man were killed.

Medics provided assistance to a 27-year-old man who was injured by the explosion of an unknown object in a forest near the village of Boholiubivka in the Izium district.

According to Syniehubov, the enemy used various types of weapons against the Kharkiv region, including a missile (type being determined), MLRS rockets, glide bombs (KAB), Geran-2 drones, Lancet drones, and FPV drones.

In the Bohodukhiv district, an apartment building was damaged (village of Ivashky); in the Kupiansk district, a car was damaged (village of Ivanivka); in the Lozova district, a private house was damaged (village of Verkhnia Samara); in the Chuhuiv district, a civilian enterprise was damaged (village of Korobchyne).

"The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 23 people over the past day. Seventeen people remain there. A total of 14,272 people have been registered at the point since it started operating," he added.

As reported, on December 7 Russian forces struck the Pechenihy Reservoir dam in the Kharkiv region.
