Three people evacuated from Huliaipole
On November 23, rescuers from Ukraine's State Emergency Service evacuated a man and two women from Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region due to ongoing Russian shelling.
According to Ukrinform, the SES reported this on Facebook.
The evacuation was organized by a community rescue officer.
When rescuers were leaving Huliaipole with a 68-year-old woman, they were approached by a 60-year-old man who wanted to evacuate with his 82-year-old mother.
The man explained that he had learned about the evacuation the day before but could not leave immediately due to shelling.
At 02:30, he and his mother began walking to the road where the evacuation vehicle was supposed to meet them. They had to walk nearly ten kilometers under fire in the dark, carrying their belongings. Along the way, the elderly woman twisted her ankle and could not continue, forcing the man to leave her and go alone to fetch the rescuers.
The SES stressed that, despite shelling, risks, and difficult conditions, evacuations continue.
