Gas transfer equipment burning on board Turkish-flagged vessel after Russian attack on Izmail port
In the port of Izmail, gas transfer equipment located on board a Turkish-flagged vessel caught fire following a nighttime Russian attack.
The State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“After the nighttime attack on the port of Izmail, gas transfer equipment located on board a civilian vessel under the flag of Turkey caught fire… The situation remains under constant control,” the statement said.
USPA noted that emergency response units of the State Emergency Service (SES), including teams equipped with robotic systems, as well as auxiliary services, have been deployed. An operational headquarters has been set up at the site, headed by the head of the Izmail District Military Administration.
According to local authorities, there is currently no need for civilian evacuation.
As reported, in Odesa region, Russian drone attacks caused fires at energy and port infrastructure facilities; one person was injured.
