Ukrainian air defenses down 91 Russian drones
From Sunday evening, Russia attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 128 drones, of which Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 91.
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
Starting at 20:00 on Sunday, November 16, the invaders launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Russia’s Rostov region and 128 strike UAVs — Shahed, Herbera, and other types — from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 80 of these UAVs were Shahed-type drones.
The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 on Monday, November 17, air defense shot down or suppressed 91 UAVs over northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Impacts of 32 strike UAVs were recorded at 15 locations, as well as impacts from two ballistic missiles at two locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russians struck Balakliia in Kharkiv region with two missiles. Three people were killed and ten wounded.
