Drones attack oil terminal in Novorossiysk
On the night of November 14, drones attacked an oil depot in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
This was reported by the Russian BBC, according to Ukrinform.
The Krasnodar region's operational headquarters reported that the drone strike damaged an oil depot at the Sheskharis transshipment complex in the Novorossiysk seaport. Later, the agency reported that as a result of the strike on the port, a “civilian vessel” was damaged, without specifying which vessel it was. Three members of its crew were injured.
“They were hospitalized and are receiving all necessary medical care,” the operational headquarters wrote.
Emergency services also reported that “coastal structures were damaged” and, according to their data, “no one was injured.”
Later that night, the operational headquarters reported that the fire at the oil depot had been extinguished.
The agency also reported that in Novorossiysk, fragments of the drone fell into an apartment, windows were broken in several other apartments, and one man was injured. Two other apartment buildings were also damaged by fragments of the drone, with windows broken.
The Russian company Nefteavtomatika writes on its website that “the Sheskharis transshipment complex is one of the largest oil transshipment complexes for oil and petroleum products in the south of the Russian Federation.” It is used to receive, store, and ship oil and petroleum products for export, as well as to supply oil to factories in the Krasnodar region.
The attack on the oil terminal was later confirmed by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on his Telegram channel. He posted a video of the attack, captioning it: “This is the oil terminal in Novorossiysk after the arrival. The Russians are hitting residential buildings and energy facilities.”
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of November 14, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region with missiles and drones. As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv, three people were killed and 26 others were injured.
