Ukraine's General Staff says no encirclement in Pokrovsk
There is no encirclement of Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"The defense of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration is ongoing. There is no encirclement of our units and formations. Measures are underway to block enemy forces attempting to infiltrate and concentrate within the city of Pokrovsk. Active resistance continues against attempts by enemy infantry groups to establish positions," the statement reads.
In Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces are conducting strike-and-search operations. Assault units of the 425th Assault Regiment, Unmanned Systems Forces operators, combined groups of the Special Operations Forces, the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate are all involved. Military units defending the city have been reinforced.
Over the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian troops near Pokrovsk eliminated 26 occupiers and wounded 64 more. A total of 58 enemy infantry shelters in and around the city were destroyed or damaged.
Since the beginning of the week, Russian losses in the Pokrovsk sector have amounted to 249 troops (including 159 killed in action), seven UAV control points, 26 vehicles and motorcycles, as well as a tank and an armored combat vehicle.
At the same time, efforts continue to strengthen the defensive flanks of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration and to secure and protect logistical routes.
The Dobropillia operation is also ongoing. Over the past day, Ukrainian assault units advanced between 100 and 700 meters in certain areas. In total, as of November 5, 188.9 square kilometers have been liberated and 249.9 square kilometers cleared of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
