Only 561 civilians remain in Kupiansk

As of midday of October 28, only 561 residents remain in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported this on national television, according to Ukrinform.

"A total of 561 people remain there. We received information that a woman was killed today. Our military and law enforcement are now clarifying all the details," Syniehubov said.

According to him, about 30 people were evacuated from Kupiansk over the past day. The evacuation continues under constant shelling and high danger.

"Evacuation from Kupiansk is like a special operation — carefully planned and carried out either by the military or the National Police. From the moment of receiving an evacuation request to its implementation, we try to ensure no more than a day passes," Syniehubov added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, soldiers of the 10th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces intercepted a radio transmission in which a Russian serviceman ordered the shooting of a civilian in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, counter-sabotage operations by the Defense Forces are ongoing in the city.
