Russia training new assault groups to reinforce Orikhiv front – Voloshyn
Russian forces are training new assault groups at training centers and ranges located in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions to intensify attacks in the Orikhiv sector.
Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, said this in a comment to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"According to our intelligence, the enemy is preparing new assault groups at training centers and ranges in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions to step up offensive operations in the Orikhiv sector, specifically in the areas of Kamianske, Prymorske, Stepove, Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, and Mali Shcherbaky," Voloshyn said.
He explained that within a week or two – or possibly later – some of these assault groups will complete their training, after which the enemy will attempt to deploy them to forward positions for assault operations.
On October 13, as many as 190 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian occupiers were recorded along the front line.
