Ukrainian forces improve tactical position near Mali Shcherbaky, Shcherbaky – military spox
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces have improved their tactical position near the villages of Mali Shcherbaky and Shcherbaky, prompting an active artillery response from Russian forces.
Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, said this in a comment to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The enemy has been conducting quite intensive shelling along the line of contact near Mali Shcherbaky and Shcherbaky. A few days ago, Ukrainian assault units managed to slightly improve the tactical position of our troops in that area," Voloshyn said.
According to him, in response, Russian forces have intensified artillery fire and are using bomb-dropping drones in an attempt to destroy buildings in these settlements.
"Going forward, [the enemy] will likely attempt to take them under control," Voloshyn added.
The spokesperson also noted that intense artillery shelling continues in another settlement – Mala Tokmachka. Overall, an increase in Russian fire activity has been observed along the Orikhiv front.
"Every day, the enemy carries out roughly 250-270 attacks, using about 1,100-1,200 munitions," he said.
