Russian morning shelling kills one, injures several in Kherson region
Russian forces shelled Kherson community in the morning of October 6, killing one person and injuring several others.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Kherson City Military Administration (CMA).
“This morning, Russian invaders launched a massive attack on Stepanivka,” the statement reads.
As reported, a 69-year-old woman died in her home from injuries incompatible with life as a result of the strike.
Russian forces also shelled Kherson’s Dniprovskyi district at 6:45, injuring a 66-year-old man who sustained explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to his legs and head. He is now hospitalized.
Police officers also brought a 64-year-old man to the hospital after he came under fire in another attack on Dniprovskyi district at around 7:00. Doctors diagnosed him with blast trauma and an open fracture of the right thigh.
According to the CMA, police transported another victim — a 57-year-old Kherson resident — to the hospital after shelling in the Dniprovskyi district at around 6:15. The man suffered blast trauma and an open fracture of the left leg. He is receiving all necessary medical care.
The first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council Yurii Sobolevskyi wrote on Telegram that the morning in Kherson “began with shelling from multiple launch rocket systems and artillery.” He urged residents to avoid open areas and crowded places whenever possible.
According to the CMA, during the past 24 hours, three settlements of Kherson community came under Russian attack. Kherson, Prydniprovske, and Antonivka were hit by artillery fire and drone strikes damaging private homes, farm buildings, and a vehicle. In total, three people were injured and one person was killed as a result of Russian attacks on the community.
As Ukrinform previously reported, in Kherson region, one person was killed and three were injured over the past day due to Russian aggression.
