Ukrainian border guards neutralize Russian Solntsepyok in Pokrovsk sector
Soldiers from the Phoenix unmanned aerial systems unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine neutralized a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system deployed by invaders in the Pokrovsk sector.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), which also released a corresponding video.
“A heavy flamethrower system, TOS-1A Solntsepyok, which had been shelling our positions, was neutralized in the Pokrovsk sector,” the statement reads.
In recent days, the unit has also operated successfully in the Lyman, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk sectors of Donetsk region, targeting concentrations of enemy personnel and logistical assets.
“Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Phoenix unit’s crews, enemy positions were struck, personnel were eliminated, vehicles destroyed, and other key logistical targets identified,” the SBGS added.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian government allocated UAH 1 billion from the state budget’s reserve fund to strengthen the capabilities of the Phoenix unmanned aerial systems unit of the State Border Guard Service.
