Zelensky meets Kristersson in Copenhagen, expresses Ukraine’s interest in Swedish Gripen fighter jets

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and the President of Ukraine held a meeting in Copenhagen. The agenda included the future development of Ukraine's defense and Swedish Gripen aircraft.

The Swedish prime minister announced this on social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

“Sweden’s support for Ukraine remains steadfast. When Ukrainians defend their freedom, they also defend ours,” Kristersson emphasized.

He added that he had had “a wonderful meeting with President Zelensky in Copenhagen today.”

“We discussed the continued cooperation on developing Ukraine’s future defence, including air defence, and Ukraine’s interest in Gripen fighters – Europe’s most capable fighter jet,” the Swedish prime minister said.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the “Drone Wall” initiative and the prospects for opening the first cluster at a meeting with European Union leaders.

The Swedish government has decided to allocate additional support to Ukraine ahead of winter in the amount of SEK 1.1 billion (about EUR 100 million), of which SEK 450 million will be contributed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
