Putin signs decree on autumn conscription: 135,000 people to be recruited

On Monday, September 29, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree on autumn military conscription, starting October 1.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Russian BBC service.

According to the decree, conscription will last from October 1 to December 31, 2025. They plan to conscript 135,000 people for military service.

The article states that in September, the Russian State Duma passed in the first reading a bill on year-round conscription into the Russian army. According to the document, conscription commissions will operate permanently, but conscription will take place according to the previous schedule, twice a year, from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.

As reported by Ukrinform, people with medical conditions that prevent them from performing military service are conscripted into the Russian army, according to data from the ATESH resistance movement.
