First anti-drone tunnel built in Zaporizhia region
The first anti-drone tunnel has been completed in the Zaporizhzhia region, with three more 60% ready.
According to Ukrinform, Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram.
The Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration stated that the first stage of a large-scale construction project to protect frontline roads from enemy drones is underway.
"Our main focus is on areas near the line of contact and key logistics routes. The first tunnel has already been completed, and three more are 60% finished. Steel, wire, and mesh structures effectively protect transportation and people," the post says.
The work is financed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and coordinated by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration together with the State Transport Special Service.
As reported, installing anti-drone nets in the Kherson region has been ongoing for almost a year. Currently, roads are being upgraded with nets that have proven to be resistant to both Russian UAV attacks and weather changes.
