Russian army attacks energy facilities in Chernihiv region
Russian forces are targeting energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region, with several facilities hit.
Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"The enemy continues its assault on energy facilities in the Chernihiv region. At this stage, several sites have been struck," the post reads.
Chaus noted that air defense systems are in operation. Power outages have been reported in Chernihiv and the Chernihiv district.
Chernihiv City Council added that due to the power cuts, trolleybus service in the city has been temporarily suspended.
Chernihivvodokanal, the municipal water utility, reported that at 13:40 all of its facilities were de-energized. Work is underway to restore the operation of wastewater pumping stations.
The utility urged residents to stock up on drinking water.
