Russian drones hit Kirovohrad region: blackouts and train disruptions reported

Part of Kropyvnytskyi and 44 other settlements in Kirovohrad region were left without power following a massive Russian drone attack.

Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andrii Raikovych reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

According to him, overnight, Kirovohrad region came under a massive drone attack, with the enemy striking infrastructure facilities.

As of now, the regional center and 44 settlements in Oleksandrivka community remain partially disconnected from power.

Damage to several private households in Oleksandrivka has also been recorded.

Raikovych added that emergency crews spent the night extinguishing multiple fires.

According to the Odesa branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, train traffic has been halted in two directions: Pomichna–Kropyvnytskyi–Znamianka–Piatykhatky and Fundukliivka–Znamianka–Piatykhatky.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported that on the night of September 17, Russians struck infrastructure facilities in Kropyvnytskyi district. Fires broke out at three sites as a result of UAV strikes.

A total of 61 rescuers and 14 pieces of SES equipment were deployed to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

As reported earlier by Ukrinform, due to a large-scale Russian attack on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities and power outages along rail routes, a number of trains are delayed.
