Russian occupation forces are attempting to resume assault operations in the direction of the village of Malynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.

“[The enemy] is attempting to resume its assault operations in the direction of Malynivka,” he said.

The spokesman said that the situation in the Orikhiv and Huliaypole directions has not changed significantly in the last few days.

"The enemy continues to actively shell, use kamikaze drones, and quite actively carry out air strikes with unguided air missiles. In particular, in the Huliaypole direction, it is striking the settlements of Zaliznychne and Bilohiria," Voloshin said.

In addition, according to him, last night Russian occupiers launched a massive strike with Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems on Zaporizhzhia.

“The missiles hit about a dozen locations. There are dead and wounded among the local civilian population, as the enemy struck residential apartment buildings. Educational institutions and various enterprises were also damaged there,” the spokesman said.

Voloshyn stressed that the enemy is trying to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces out of certain positions in order to strike Zaporizhzhia using various weapons systems.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army attacked two districts of Zaporizhzhia. Eighteen people were wounded and one person was killed.
