Main oil pipeline supplying Russian army blown up in Saratov region – source
Another major oil pipeline has been blown up in Russia’s Saratov region.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by sources within the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR).
On September 8, around 13.00 local time, a powerful explosion occurred on a pipeline in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Saratov. The blast disabled the Kuibyshev–Lysychansk oil pipeline, which had been supplying fuel to the Russian military.
According to the source, the affected facility had an annual capacity of 82 million tonnes.
Local social media channels reported that by morning, numerous workers were seen at the site attempting to mitigate the aftermath of the attack.
This marks the third Russian oil and gas infrastructure facility disabled within the past 24 hours.
As in previous cases, Russian disinformation outlets have described the series of explosions targeting strategic infrastructure in Saratov as “planned exercises.”
As previously reported by Ukrinform, two gas pipelines were also disabled on September 8 following explosions in Penza, Russia.
