Occupiers increase pressure on Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration
Russian occupation forces are increasing pressure on the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, with up to 56 combat engagements occurring on some days.
This was stated in an exclusive comment to Ukrinform by the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, Oleksii Bielskyi.
"The enemy's pressure on the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration is increasing; the number of combat engagements there fluctuates. On some days, there are 52–56 combat engagements, sometimes a bit fewer – 49, but the pressure is intensifying," he emphasized.
Bielskyi added that the Russian occupiers can attack the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration from 16 sectors at different times of the day.
“For example, conditionally at 8 a.m.: there is an attack from the south, from the northern entrance, and throughout the day they [the Russians] are simply trying to find gaps in the defense, trying to break through them to organize a breakthrough,” the spokesperson explained.
According to him, the total average daily number of combat engagements with the enemy in the areas of responsibility of the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Group of Forces is over 170.
“The number of combat engagements is increasing, and the most intense sector was, is, and remains Pokrovsk. The Russians reached the southern borders of this Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration back in the fall–early winter of last year from the south, but they could not even approach Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Then they broke through the Dobropillia salient, and now very active hostilities are ongoing there,” the spokesperson said.
He informed that the Russian army has concentrated about 100,000 troops in this area.
"Since last year, since December, when they [the Russians] have been trying to take Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, they have already lost over 60,000 of their servicemen there, and now they have assembled this group, and every day our forces kill on average 150–200 Russian army servicemen there,” Bielskyi stated.
As reported by Ukrinform, there have been 77 battles on the front since the beginning of the day, and the Pokrovsk sector remains the most intense.
