Melania Trump to not attend Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen

First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, received an invitation from Olena Zelenska to the Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, but will not be present at the event. The meeting of the First Ladies of the United States and Ukraine will take place in New York at the end of September.

Olena Zelenska said this at a press conference dedicated to the summit, Ukrinform reports.

Zelenska noted that the First Lady of the United States had also received an invitation but would not be present this time. She added that meetings were planned in New York at the end of the month, where the topics discussed in Kyiv would also be addressed. According to her, there would be a side event on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and another event focused on education. She emphasized that this would provide an opportunity to meet both in terms of the agenda and in person to discuss additional issues.

She added that over the five years, a certain core of the summit has already been formed, and participants who cannot be physically present at the summit may join it online.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen will take place in Kyiv on September 10–11. This year’s summit will be held under the slogan “Education Shaping the World.”
