Shostka left without power after Russian strikes on critical infrastructure

Russian strikes on critical infrastructure in the Sumy region have left the city of Shostka and the surrounding district without electricity. Power engineers are working to restore supply.

As reported by Ukrinform, Sumyoblenergo announced this on Facebook.

“This morning, due to Russian army strikes on critical infrastructure in the Sumy region, the city of Shostka and Shostka district were cut off from the power grid,” the statement reads.

The company emphasized that the interruption is temporary and restoration efforts are underway.

Earlier reports indicated that seven people were injured in the Sumy region over the past day as a result of Russian attacks on the region. Additionally, overnight on September 8, Russian forces targeted a thermal power generation facility in the Kyiv region.
