Ukraine’s air defenses down 48 of 53 Russian drones in daytime attack
Ukraine’s Defense Forces shot down or jammed 48 drones launched by Russia in a renewed wave of attacks, while new enemy targets are detected in the north.
Ukrinform reports this, citing the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to the military, after the overnight assault on August 2, Russian forces carried out another launch, deploying 53 strike UAVs, including Shahed drones and various decoy models. Most of the targets were directed toward Kyiv.
As of 16:00 on Tuesday, Ukraine’s air defense units had destroyed or neutralized 48 of the enemy drones.
The attack is still ongoing, with new groups of Russian UAVs recorded over Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
Earlier, in the overnight assault on August 2, Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 120 out of 150 Russian drones.
