General Staff reports 97 combat engagements since day-start, intense fighting in Pokrovsk sector
Since the start of the day, 97 combat engagements between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops have been recorded, with 40 of them occurring in the Pokrovsk sector.
This was reported on Facebook by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
Russian forces shelled communities in Sumy region, including Buniakyne, Petrushivka, Pokrovka, Bila Bereza, Turiya, Bachivsk, Khutir Mykhailivskyi, Porozok, Kliusy, and Romashkove, using artillery and mortars.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks, with one still ongoing. Russian aviation launched five airstrikes, dropping eight guided bombs, and carried out 150 shellings, including three MLRS attacks.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched seven assaults near Vovchansk, Zelene, Ambarne, and toward Kutkivka, with three engagements ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, one Russian assault near Holubivka was repelled.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops carried out 14 attacks near Novyi Mir, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and in the Serebrianskyi Forest, with battles continuing near Serebrianka and Olhivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attempted to advance near Markove, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora, but all four attacks were repelled.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops attempted to break through near Dyliivka; three assaults were repelled, while one is currently underway.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Russians carried out 40 attacks attempting to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Popiv Yar, Razyne, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. The Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 37 attacks.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 11 assaults, with eight engagements ongoing near Piddubne, Fedorivka, Voskresenka, Shevchenko, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, and Novopil.
In the Huliaipole sector, fighting continues near Malynivka; one Russian attack was repelled.
In the Orikhiv sector, two Russian attacks were repelled near Kamianske and toward Mala Tokmachka. Russian aircraft launched unguided rockets at Prymorske.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the village of Kozatske was hit by an airstrike.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian military Spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn stated that Russian command had deployed several battalions of a newly formed motor rifle regiment to the temporarily occupied territories in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
