Ukrainian General Staff confirms strike on ammunition plant in Moscow region
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed that, during the night of July 7, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian ammunition production facility in Moscow region.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff posted the announcement on Facebook.
“As part of efforts to degrade the enemy’s capacity to produce explosives and ammunition, overnight on July 7, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a strike on the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant in Moscow region, Russian Federation,” the statement reads.
The General Staff noted that the plant manufactures pyrotechnic materials and ammunition, including thermobaric warheads for Shahed-type UAVs.
A series of explosions was reported in the Krasnozavodsk area, along with visible firefighting activity in neighboring settlements.
The results of the strike are still being assessed.
“Ukraine’s Defense Forces will continue to take measures to undermine the offensive potential of the Russian invaders and force Russia to end its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.
As Ukrinform previously reported, a chemical plant in Krasnozavodsk, located in Russia’s Moscow region, was attacked. The facility produces explosives and components for missile weaponry.
