Defense forces repel massive assault on Bohdanivka in Donetsk region, killing 50 Russian soldiers
In Donetsk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces prevented an attempt by Russian invaders to seize Bohdanivka and eliminated two assault groups, two tanks, two armored combat vehicles, four ATVs and four motorcycles.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Vuhledar tactical group on Facebook and a video was posted.
“In the South-Donetsk direction, in the area of responsibility of the Vuhledar tactical group, the enemy carried out another massive attack,” the post reads.
The Russian army has amassed a large number of attack aircraft and equipment near the captured Yasenove. Within two hours, four combined arms groups set off for Bohdanivka from different directions and at different times: on foot, on buggies, motorcycles, armored vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. Each group had its own purpose and task.
“The probable intention of the operation was to break through (or destroy) the Ukrainian defense and capture the settlements of Bohdanivka, Troitske and Horikhove. The Russian military leadership probably believed that they had developed a detailed, pragmatic and cunning plan. However, it did not take into account several factors: Ukrainian intelligence, which identified all the groups, excellent interaction and coordination between units, as well as the experience and courage of Ukrainian soldiers,” Vuhledar noted.
None of the four groups reached the Ukrainian defense positions. Firepower and drones destroyed two tanks, two armored personnel carriers, four ATVs, four motorcycles and about 50 Russian invaders.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian soldiers engaged six Chinese soldiers in the Donetsk sector, two were taken prisoner. President Volodymyr Zelensky insists on urgently discussing the situation with partners.
