Ukrainian forces down 83 Russian drones, 59 vanish from radar

Ukraine's air defense forces shot down 83 Russian UAVs on the night of February 16-17, while 46 others veered off course and failed to reach their targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to the report, from 21:00 on Sunday, February 16, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 147 Shahed strike UAVs and decoy drones launched from Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aerial attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire teams of the Air Force and Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As of 09:00 on Monday, February 17, 83 Shahed strike UAVs and drones of other types were shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions.

As many as 59 enemy decoy drones disappeared from radar (without negative consequences).

The Kharkiv, Kyiv, Poltava and Zaporizhzhia regions sustained damage due to the enemy attack.
