Operational Command South says enemy intensifying use of FPV drones

Russian forces used more than 70 FPV drones on the southern axis in the past 24 hours.

Nataliia Humeniuk, head of the joint press center of Ukraine's Operational Command South, said this on Ukrainian television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"In our area of responsibility, the enemy continues to attack the civilian population of the right bank [of the Dnipro River] and terrorize our positions on the left bank. In particular, it has intensified the use of unmanned aerial vehicles of the FPV type and other modifications that drop cluster munitions. In the past combat day, we noted extraordinary activity, which we have not recorded before, as more than 70 FPV drones were used against the positions of our troops and the civilian population," Humeniuk said.

She noted that the enemy was constantly changing tactics, looking for ways to bypass Ukrainian air defense systems.

On Saturday, January 27, the Russian army launched two shelling attacks on Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, damaging an apartment building and an enterprise's administrative building.
