Child's body retrieved from rubble in Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region

In the village of Rivne in the Donetsk region, rescuers have retrieved the body of a dead child from the rubble of a house destroyed by an enemy attack. Rescue operations are ongoing.

The State Emergency Service reported this on its Facebook page, according to Ukrinform.

Rescuers continue to search for five more people under the rubble in Rivne, two of whom are children.

In Pokrovsk, rescuers pulled the body of a woman from the rubble. Another person was rescued. Emergency rescue operations are underway at the site of two destroyed private residential buildings to search for four people, including two children.

According to the State Emergency Service, the total number of those injured following the Russian strike on the Pokrovsk district as of 08:00 on January 7 increased to nine people. As many as 68 tonnes of destroyed building structures have been dismantled.

The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region has deployed 30 rescuers and five units of equipment for the work at two locations.

As reported, on Saturday, January 6, the Russian army launched a massive attack on the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. The invaders used S-300 missiles.

As of 21:00 on January 6, six people were reported killed in Rivne, three of whom were children.
