Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General comments on results of ‘Grain from Ukraine’ summit
The maritime corridor for grain exports organized by Ukraine has a positive impact on global markets, but they require not only increased supply volumes but also stability.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, commenting on the results of the ‘Grain from Ukraine’ summit, in response to a request from Ukrinform.
He said that their goal is clear, expressed by the Secretary-General as well—that the more grain and fertilizers quickly and freely enter the market, the better it is for the world as a whole.
The spokesperson added that they are aware of the export route through the Black Sea organized by Ukrainians, and it is helpful. However, he believes that global markets need not only larger volumes but also stability.
As reported, the second summit of the Ukrainian humanitarian initiative ‘Grain from Ukraine’ took place in Kyiv on November 25 under the auspices of Volodymyr Zelensky.
The summit resulted in a joint statement supported by 23 countries.
Rebecca Greenspan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), participated in the forum on behalf of the United Nations.
