Klymenko: We can talk about holding elections after end of war
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko believes that elections in Ukraine should be discussed after the war is over.
He said this in an interview with Censor.net, answering the question about holding elections during the war, Ukrinform reported.
"In my opinion, it will be very difficult to hold elections in the country under such conditions. Indeed, there is martial law, there is war. When we end the war, then we will talk about elections," Klymenko said.
As reported, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, recently stated that the Constitution does not prohibit holding elections during martial law.
The President's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Fedir Venislavskyi, said that there are no discussions or deliberations on holding elections in Ukraine during the martial law regime.
