Ukrainian defenders shoot down Shahed drone with small arms in Sumy region
Ukrainian defenders shot down an enemy Shahed drone with small arms in the Sumy region last night.
The Sumy regional military administration said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"In the Sumy region, the defenders of the sky shot down a Shahed drone - it was spotted at night in the Romny district by a mobile group of volunteer fighters. The defenders opened fire with small arms and destroyed the enemy's attack drone," the post reads.
The wreckage of the UAV fell at a safe distance from populated localities in a deserted area.
"Thanks to the vigilance and professional actions of our defenders, we managed to avoid casualties and destruction. I am thankful to every soldier who faithfully defends the Sumy region and Ukraine," said Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the regional military administration.
Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 20 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones overnight. Ukrainian air defense destroyed all drones and two Kalibr cruise missiles.
