One killed, one wounded by enemy shelling in Kherson region
The Russian army shelled a village in the Kherson region early on Thursday, June 15, killing a local woman and wounding another woman.
That's according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.
"According to the investigation, on June 15, at around 10:30, the Russian military began shelling a village in the Kherson district. As a result, a local resident sustained fatal injuries. Another woman was also injured and hospitalized," the report said.
According to preliminary data, the Russian military used mortars.
Residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged.
A pretrial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, said in a post on Telegram that the enemy had shelled the Kherson suburb of Zelenivka.
"Unfortunately, an 80-year-old woman was killed and a 69-year-old woman was injured by an enemy strike," he added.
On the evening of June 14, Russian troops shelled Kherson, injuring two volunteers, including a foreigner.
