Military airfield in Ukraine’s Poltava region suffers missile, drone strike

On the night of June 10, the enemy attacked one of the operational airfields in Poltava region using Iskander-type ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as Iranian-made UAVs. Odesa and Kharkiv regions were also attacked by land-based cruise missiles and attack drones, respectively.

That's according to Ukraine's Air Force Command, Ukrinform reports.

In total, eight land-based missiles of various types and 35 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were launched at critical infrastructure and military facilities from the northern and southern directions - from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov.

The air defense forces within the East, Center, and South operational zones downed two cruise missiles (their type is yet to be specified) and 20 Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones.

The attack lasted from 23:00 on June 9 to 5:00 on June 10, 2023 and brought no human casualties, according to tentative reports. Local military administrations are yet to report on the consequences of the strikes.

Also, over the past day, on June 9, the air defense of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed twelve enemy UAVs of operational and tactical level (Orlan-10, Zala, and Supercam).
