Village in Beryslav district caught in water trap

The village of Novohrednieve has been caught in a water trap in Beryslav district of Kherson region.

"Novohrednieve village in Kalynivka community is in a water trap. Flooded houses. No power supply," Volodymyr Litvinov, Head of the Beryslav District Military Administration, posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

As noted, all services are working to evacuate people and animals.

Over the past two days, 97 people have been evacuated from the affected settlements of Kalynivka territorial community.

As reported, the water level in the Inhulets River has risen due to the uncontrolled water flow from the Kakhovka Reservoir down the Dnipro River. Settlements of Kalynivka territorial community – Kalynivske, Zapovit, Bobrovyi Kut, Mala Seydemynukha, Krasnoliubetsk, and Novohrednieve villages – are under threat of flooding. Davydiv Brid village is in a zone of possible flooding. In general, the water level has risen by 150 cm.

On June 6, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka HPP.
